Anjanette M. Dennis has a master’s degree in clinical psychology. She is on a Board of Behavioral Sciences, Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California and a Board of Mental Health Examiners, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona. She has 30 years of experience working in mental and behavioral healthcare. She has provided psychotherapy and counseling to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who have experienced familial or relational stress, severe trauma or abuse, law enforcement/judicial encounters, or mental illness. 

Early in her career, Anjanette has worked at intensive outpatient group therapy programs and on therapeutic academic campuses, with juveniles who are on probation, affiliated with gangs, in the correctional system, on probation, in foster care, or living in residential treatment, as this is a population she has been extremely passionate about helping. She provided intensive school counseling to students with intellectual disabilities, Down’s syndrome, and Autism.

As a marriage and family therapist, she provides premarital and marital counseling to all couples, at any stage of their relationship. She assists children, adolescents, siblings, parents, and stepparents, blend into healthy and happy functioning family units. She teaches parenting to parents and is available to present at schools on numerous child development topics.

With a special interest in trauma recovery, Anjanette also provides counseling to those who have experienced direct or secondary trauma from witnessing or being exposed to traumatic events, such as those witnessed by first responders or survivors of mass tragedies or natural disasters. She has a background in Forensic Psychology which began when she worked at Twin Towers jail in Los Angeles early in her career. She is experienced in using Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist individuals from healing from the tragedies they have endured.

As an avid sports enthusiast and parent of a collegiate athlete, Anjanette has studied coursework and read literature in sports psychology and provides therapy to athletes balancing health and wellness as psychological preventative maintenance to help them remain focused on their game.

As a female raised in Los Angeles on the outskirts of Hollywood, a large portion of her clientele has been affiliated directly or indirectly with the film industry and its ever-changing challenges. Additionally, her Latina heritage has produced an innate passion within her to assist immigrants through their immigration process while establishing legal status in the United States. She currently conducts detailed psychological evaluations for immigration cases.

Anjanette’s therapeutic specialty is helping individuals who have endured emotional, physical, psychological, vocational, sexual, and other challenges, let go of their emotional pain and live a life free of that hardship or trauma. Currently she provides remote therapy to adolescents, individuals, and couples. She is currently studying Integrative Sex and Couples Therapy.

Anjanette proudly upholds values of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, respect, honesty, client advocacy, inclusivity, diversity, empowerment, and social justice. She is involved in multiple philanthropy projects each year connecting her clients with basic necessities such as food, clothing, shelter, holiday toys, and school supplies. Anjanette strives to create safe, warm, non-judgmental therapeutic relationships with each client based on mutual respect, empathy, and kindness.
